Terms of Use

Effective 2026-10-23. Version 2026-10-23. See also our Privacy Policy.

The short version

  • Nerd is in an invite-only beta. You are here because you were invited to test it.
  • It is run by Prakhar Tripathi personally. No company has been formed yet.
  • It may change, break or stop at any time, and it is free while in beta.
  • You use it at your own discretion. Check anything your AI gives you before relying on it.
  • Your nerds and your memory stay yours. You can download or delete everything from your account page.

This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Nerd. They govern your use of the personal side of Nerd: the website at i.asknerd.ai, the Nerd connector your AI uses at i.asknerd.ai/mcp, the sign-in pages it relies on, and every related page, tool and feature (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, connecting an AI to Nerd, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These terms cover only the personal side of Nerd. They do not apply to the asknerd.ai website or to Nerd for work, which have their own terms and policies.

1. Who we are

Nerd is operated by Prakhar Tripathi, an individual resident in Ontario, Canada ("Nerd", "we", "us" or "our"). We intend to transfer the operation of Nerd to a company we form for that purpose. When we do, that company takes our place under this document, and we will tell you.

You can reach us at support@asknerd.ai.

2. What Nerd is

Nerd is a network of "nerds": written methods that people ("Creators") publish so that your own AI can follow them. When you use a nerd, your AI reads its method from Nerd and does the work with your AI and with any connectors you have chosen to give it.

Nerd does not operate your AI, does not control what your AI says or does, and does not read the chats you have with it. Your AI provider and any connector provider are separate companies with their own terms and privacy policies, which govern your use of their products.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By confirming your age you represent that this is true.

During early access, accounts are by invitation only. We may decide whom to invite and may end early access at any time.

You may not use the Service if we have previously suspended or closed your account, or if using it would break a law that applies to you.

4. Your account

You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for keeping that account secure and for all activity under your Nerd account, including activity by any AI or agent you connect to it.

Choose a handle that you have the right to use. Handles may not impersonate a person, brand or organization, mislead others, or infringe anyone's rights. We may reclaim or change a handle that breaks these Terms.

Tell us at support@asknerd.ai right away if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission. Signing out from your account page ends every session and every connected AI's access at once.

5. AI agents acting for you

When you connect an AI to Nerd, you authorize it to act for you within the permissions you approve: to find, add, use, make and publish nerds, and to save or read memory you ask it to keep. Anything your AI does through your account is treated as done by you.

AI systems make mistakes. Before you rely on, publish or act on anything your AI produces while following a nerd, review it yourself.

6. No professional advice

Nerds share methods and experience. They are not medical, health, legal, financial, tax, safety or other professional advice, and no Creator or nerd is your professional adviser. Do not use the Service in place of a qualified professional, and do not use it for emergencies.

Physical activities such as training, travel or cooking carry real risk. You are responsible for judging whether an activity is safe and suitable for you.

7. Creator content

"Creator Content" means the nerds, methods, names, descriptions, examples, tags, images and other material you publish or submit to the Service. As between you and Nerd, you keep ownership of your Creator Content.

You grant Nerd a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, store, copy, reproduce, adapt for formatting, display, distribute and make available your Creator Content, in the ways and to the audience you choose (Private, Link or Listed), for the purpose of operating, securing, improving and promoting the Service. This licence ends when you delete the Creator Content or your account, except for copies in backups that are deleted on their normal schedule, and except where others already added a version you published, which they may keep using under these Terms.

You grant each user who can see a nerd a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to have their own AI read and follow it for their own personal, non-commercial use.

You represent that you own or have all the rights needed to grant these licences, that your Creator Content is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that it does not break these Terms or any law.

We scan Creator Content and may review, refuse, pause, unlist or remove it, at our discretion, including to protect users and their AIs. We are not obliged to monitor content and do not endorse any Creator Content.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to let your AI or anyone else:

  • publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or that exploits or endangers minors;
  • write instructions meant to make another person's AI disclose their data, ignore its user, contact third parties, spend money, or take any action its user did not ask for;
  • collect, request or store passwords, payment card or bank numbers, government identifiers, health records or login details through a nerd or through memory;
  • infringe or misappropriate anyone's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights, or impersonate anyone;
  • distribute malware, phishing, spam or deceptive links;
  • probe, scan or test the Service's security, bypass rate limits, access controls or content checks, or access accounts or data that are not yours;
  • scrape or bulk-download the Service other than through the public text versions and machine-readable files we publish for agents, or use the Service to build a competing product;
  • overload or interfere with the Service, or use it in any way that breaks a law that applies to you or us.

To report content or a security problem, use the Report link on any page or write to us.

9. Our rights in the Service

The Service, including its software, design, house nerds, names and logos, belongs to Nerd and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

If you send us feedback or ideas, you allow us to use them without restriction or payment.

10. Beta, price and changes to the Service

The Service is an invite-only beta, offered for testing. You use it at your own discretion and risk. The Service is currently free. Features may change, break or be removed, and we may limit or end the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. If we plan to charge for something, we will tell you in advance and you will not be charged without agreeing.

11. Suspension and closing your account

You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account from your account page. Deleting removes your account, your nerds and your memory as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close your account, or remove access to any part of the Service, if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, if required by law, or to protect users, third parties or the Service. Where reasonable we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your data first.

Sections 7 (to the extent a licence survives), 9, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17 survive the end of these Terms.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all content on it, including nerds and anything your AI produces using them, are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Nerd is not responsible for your AI, your AI provider, your connectors, Creator Content, or any action you or your AI take based on a nerd.

Some laws, including consumer protection laws in Quebec and elsewhere, do not allow some of these disclaimers. Where that is so, they apply only as far as the law allows.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nerd and its operator, successors, contractors and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, however caused and on any theory of liability, even if advised of the possibility.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim and CAD $100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, for gross negligence or intentional misconduct, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Nerd and its operator, successors and contractors from any third-party claim, loss, liability or reasonable cost, including legal fees, arising out of your Creator Content, your breach of these Terms, or your misuse of the Service. This section does not apply to you as a consumer where the law of your province or country does not allow it.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict of law rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

Before starting a claim, please write to us so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Subject to the next sentence, the courts of Ontario sitting in Toronto have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep any right under the law where you live to bring a claim in your local courts and to rely on mandatory consumer protections there.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with its effective date, and for material changes we will tell you in the Service or by email at least 14 days before they take effect, unless a change is required sooner by law or for security. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the new Terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.

17. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Nerd about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, it is limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them, including to the company that will operate Nerd or in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, employment or agency relationship. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.

The parties have required that these Terms and all related documents be drawn up in English. Les parties ont exigé que les présentes conditions et tous les documents connexes soient rédigés en anglais.

Notices to us go to support@asknerd.ai. We may send notices to you through the Service or to the email address on your Google account.
